Re surviving the jump:
It was nbd. 5 guys did copycat hijackings. All 5 survived their jumps. Guys at my high school, etc.
People act like Cooper jumped over the dark heart of the North Cascades in the winter. It was November. And he jumped over flat farmland near the Oregon border. This store was robbed a few hours after the hijacking: https://maps.app.goo.gl/bSGswm1srpX3NwMy8. The robber took only survival items, such as beef jerky, gloves, and cigarettes (Cooper was chain smoking on the plane).
Re the money:
It's possible that: (a) he dropped the money before or during the jump; (b) he buried the money and didn't come back for it; (c) he spent the money and the FBI just never saw any of it; or (d) he did it for the love of the game, not the money.
