Coasting from here on out. Will take 6 weeks off in March, work one week in April and retire. I will be 53. Fat wife will be 47 (we're getting married in December), and she'll retire at the end of the school year (she's finishing her 22nd year teaching). Zero debt (including no mortgage), Inflation adjusted pensions of $9,200/mo. Free healthcare. Probably won't touch retirement accounts (1.8mm or brokerage investments 800k, or crypto 525K) quite yet. Zillow says my home is valued at $825k.
Met with my FA last week and she said "I don't say this often, but I don't know why you wouldn't retire right now!"
Feels good bros. This prole oilfield bro came out on top.
Coworkers seem baffled that I'm retiring so "young".
