So you admit we know nothing about her. I've been doing this work long enough to know that it's usually not the case, especially in a long-term marriage, that 1 person is a complete monster and the other is naive, innocent and blameless.
I think this is probably true here where she wasn't some unsophisticated, uneducated housewife. These people got together at a young age. People don't change. She knew exactly who he was for many years before they got married and they stayed married for 20 years before she filed for divorce.
