again if the prole is a Scumgineer you are noticing the loudest part of a bespoke modification job, and the Car may get to 60 in like 5 seconds nbd. 99% chance this isn't the case, but that could be an entire Cat-Back Exhaust for all you know.
If they're a poseur, they're just mimicking what an actual performance cars sounds like, and the muffler is part of that. An axle-back exhaust might add like 5 hp irl. cold air intake 2.75 hp. sometimes more.
With that said any driver with any external visual mods whatsoever to their vehicle drives like a retard asshole. They express their Individuality not just with the aesthetic mods, but by driving in their own Individual, retarded way

but from a pure engineering/scumbag pov, like if you know anything about cars, one of the easiest ways to unlock performance is to get the exhaust to breathe better, putting in 200 cell cats, competition headers, or a more free flowing exhaust. if you're focused purely on car performance, the noise is an afterthought. this obviously isn't all cases - and some of it is indeed people trying to get attention - but it's an element that's being missed itt |
