I didn't even make it through the new system setup before I threw it down in disgust. Simply put, the screen is atrocious. It looks so incredibly bad next to the Switch Oled, and that's just colors and blacks. Apparently it's the absolute worst of the worst in terms of response time.

I haven't even gotten that far though because the colors and blacks are disqualifying.
I feel like this is the one true achilles heel you should be targeting because it's so much worse than No Games. No Games can be rationalized away...they can try to parade Metroid and Donkey Kong around as killer apps, or appeal to the possibility of Some Games being made at some undefined future time. And the absolute state of the Switch 2 library isn't in-your-face malicious, because people might be hard at work on games with the best of intentions.
The screen, on the other hand, is set in stone. It's right in front of you, everyone can see it, and everyone knows how bad it is from sight alone. And the raw technical data bacls that up, and any Nintendo fan who buys a Switch 2 is swallowing an instant downgrade in screen quality. It can't be gainsaid as an innocent mistake or engineers failing despite meaning well. No, it's malevelant, gross, and capitalistic. The only reason to sell you a Switch 2 with a shitty screen, when they can already make a Switch 1 with a good screen, is to sell you a Switch 2 with a better screen later. This is the ugly side of Nintendo, the side that tries to patent "monster summoning" mechanics that were around long before pokemon. The side of Nintendo that views its fans as rubes to be exploited.
This cuts so much deeper than No Games, and you really can't let them off the hook.

With all due respect they had to hit the $450 price point in order to satisfy their impoverished Redditor fanbase. There’s a reason the Switch 1 is associated with the soyjack. $450 is like an iPhone SE or something. You get the point. Men of learning with Engineering awareness should just keep the Switch 1 for handheld and Switch 2 for docked play.
I don’t get why they couldn’t just make it like $599.99 with a better screen and just make it have literally no exclusives instead of 1-2, since it’s basically a Switch Pro and we aren’t getting Zelda until 2030 anyway. I say that but tbh I know why and we all know why. It’s because their fans are disproportionately Poor.

I decided to at least try it out because I had already bought DK Bananza on FB marketplace and was stuck with it so no point in not giving it a spin.
LMAO I could not believe what I was fucking seeing when I loaded into the game. The Switch 2 has been billed as "Nintendo finally entering the 4K era" so I at least expected the game to be clean. Instead, nauseating shimmering and massive stair steps all over the place. Certainly not 4K. I look it up, and sure enough, the game is running at 1080p. Is it really that out of bounds to expect the biggest exclusive to run at 4K when we've only had 4K-capable consoles for *checks notes* ... nine years now?
Graphics are not even good. Textures look like ass. Halo 1 for the original Xbox had better texture resolution. You could zoom in on rocks and see additional details. Here the textures look like pixelated cardboard cutouts from 20 ft away in the game.
Most retarded control scheme ever too. Guys at my high school played 3D platformers with 17 different punch buttons all the time. It wasn't a big deal.
At least Mario Kart World has good courses for the Grand Prix mode. Too bad they wasted most of their effort on the
"World" part because they could have had One Game.
Switch 2: Underpowered, Underwhelming, No Games
