Let their young kids just play outside in the neighborhood all day.

Asked neighbor moms to watch their kids without notice.

Asked neighbors to borrow food, tools, etc.

dropping off friends/family all the way to the departure gate was a 180 feeling.

there was security but it was pretty basic. no TSA, no taking off shoes etc.

Possibly going to a restaurant?

I'll admit I fell for the restaurant scam last week. Got a coupon for $10 off $30 in a mailer. I figured, well if it's 1/3 off that about brings the price down to half reasonable. Went to the place and ordered about $35 worth of food. The damn lady "honored the coupon" but only for $2.27, not $10. Then asked for a tip.

I tipped her nothing.

Took the food home. It was all shit.

Restaurants suck. They don't honor coupons. I could have stuck it to her or cancelled my order, but I wanted to see if it was any good. It just sucked.

They will be out of business by Christmastime.

You used to be able to just get your own ketchup at fast food restaurants.

6 year old kids walking or biking too and from school.

Kids and adults in neighborhoods would just knock on people's doors and "pop in".

People would knock on the door selling shit and people would just invite them into their homes and listen.

a lot of people genuinely are not aware just how high-trust white societies were before the revolution in the 2nd half of the 20th century (it's most accurate to call it a revolution). for non-whites in particular, it's pretty much physiologically impossible for them to imagine what it was like - they have no frame of reference, even internally, for what that level of general social trust looks and feels like

TBF though, you're definitely flaming because 1. you weren't alive back then and 2. you're comparing rural life to city life.

all you have to do is talk to people who were alive then, or read accounts of it if that's what you prefer

it's just weird to have somebody from timbuktu or calcutta or seoul screech about how there was never any such thing as high trust western society. before i was redpilled on HBD, i thought it was weird as hell. now i know that these people get upset by the notion of high trust societies for the same reason that white people feel unease when they encounter low trust societies: it's something truly existentially foreign to them that they can never understand, and people always fear and loathe what they don't understand

Yeah it’s because they’re from grossly overpopulated societies where everything is mediated through various gradients of subhumanity so switching from that to having everything done through screenapp paperwork isn’t a huge change

it's not some novel idea or one exclusive to xo-style modern right wing types, nor is it just about population density like some desperately want it to be. e.g. watch any episode of the sopranos which does a flashback to pre-riots newark--time after time the creators go out of their way to show the subtle ways in which that block of highly urbanized 50s newark was a higher trust society than modern suburbs, even the relatively wealthy ones like tony lives in.
