It's not that internal polls are "better," but campaigns can poll things that actually matter, not just topline statewide results that make for good press headlines. For instance they can poll 1000 early voters from each party registration to see if they're doing OK or bleeding more than the other side.
I'm also assuming they have analytics teams doing far more with EV data than anyone is publicly. |
