Sometimes the ISP will send you emails or mail to pseudo threaten you but they have no actual legal ability to go after you because they can't prove that it was you. It's done as an intimidation tactic because it's all automated |

What many people don’t realize is we don’t really have a way to go after downloaders. We only know if you’re making content available for others to download. And even if we had that capability, it isn’t cost-effective for us to go after downloaders. If you download $500 worth of content, then you’ve cost us $500. But if 1,000 people download that same content from you, then you’ve cost us half a million dollars. MPAA goes after the big fish. They’re not gonna waste their time with you.
