Before long, they're going to market everything targeted at Losers as an Indie. All it is is the western marketing machine. They harness disdain at the Same AAA Games and divert that energy to indie games. And if you say "hey what about Japanese games, not saying they're all good but they come from a completely separate universe and don't have 80% of the problems you idiots complain about," and you just get downvoted and they call it rollslop.
also there's no marketing push being jap games. people just play them. Monster Hunter Wilds had 1,384,608 concurrent players at peak. but you wouldn't know it. COD Black Ops 7 had 377k.
