You're pretty much insulated from world events but you can also maintain a high standard of living on a low budget like TT. People are not going to scam you. That's the main thing you get over there that you can't expect to get anywhere else in SE Asia. Everywhere else, you will inevitably have to deal with criminals and scumbags. Whether it's through a nature sanctuary where they do regular feedings throughout the day, or just a spot near the jungle where them shits live.
