100% of kids who could beat Metroid or Ninja Gaiden grew up to be troon sociopaths.
Something has to be severely fucked inside your brain to beat games that hard.

not really. You just buy a Game and Commit the fuck out of it, even if it is shitty.
I think my NES collection at its peak was like 10 Titles. Its all I did.
Now I have handheld devices with 20,000k games on them

Mismanagement and bad decisions by a few people one of whom was one of my parents.
Also a couple of catastrophe type things that probably couldn’t have been anticipated. One had to do with 9/11. Nothing that interesting.
I’ll still inherit a little bit as long as Mamdani doesn’t totally tank the MFH real estate market for a decade.

After all these years, I am realizing that maybe nobody other than me figured out my strategy for Ninja Gaiden. You could learn that one spin move that instantly destroyed anything, including the final boss. The problem was that the final boss had three stages. As I recall, you lost the spin move after each stage. (Or maybe its energy was depleted. I don't remember.) And if you died during any stage of the final boss, you had to replay the entire fucking final world. But when you got back to the final boss, you returned to whatever stage you died on. So you could easily beat the final boss using the spin move if you were willing to replay the final world three times. That's how I beat it without having incredible skills.
I made it to the hallway just before Shredder in TMNT, but I never actually made it to Shredder (much less beat him). I was told that it was basically impossible unless you stocked up all four turtles with 100 of those scroll weapons, which took a shit ton of grinding. I never actually owned that game, so I never had patience to do that. But I think that is another game that is beatable with sufficient levels of dedication/autism. Just getting to the final level you need to grind for scrolls wasn't exactly a picnic, though.
