just do website and pay to come up a top search in google for your area of law and location. aside from that join networking groups, local politics (i refuse) and develop referring relationships with other lawyers near you. |

One definitely through Avvo, and the other probably so as well (it was a referral from their general outside counsel, whom I had never met, so I think he must have just found me online, but I think it was more likely Avvo than AdWords).
As far as numbers, go, it's probably close to an even split between online and referrals from people I've interacted with. |
