Medicaid is largely administered by the states. States can choose either very baseline Medicaid coverage and eligibility or more generous eligibility requirements (blue states like NY, Mass and Cali). The more generous the program the more state funding is used. The bill cuts funding by about a trillion over ten years. Red states tend to rely almost exclusively on federal funding for the program. Blue states have much more of a cushion. So you’ll probably see red states going even more barebones.

The bill also delays a bunch of Biden era rules that made it easier for poor seniors on Medicare to get Medicaid to fill in gaps in coverage.

The crafters of the bill were smart enough to delay the commencement of cuts until after the midterms lol. Those crafty reptiles.

They added work requirements for Medicaid lol. That's the actual answer, not LTM's deflection. You can read even shitlib sources and read the same, he's just trying to frame the lib position in a way that's less heinous to a right-leaning audience.

btw the work requirements are for TWENTY HOURS PER WEEK

The cuts are in the bill and necessary for their reconciliation deal. The work requirement is a fig leaf cover. They pulled the same shit in Arkansas. Big cut to Medicaid, claim it’s to implement their work requirement, and more than 90% of the people knocked off medicaid were actually working. If the money is not there it’s not there. There will be some other eligibility requirement or paperwork snafu that will keep people out. Not to mention the fact that a lot of people who don’t work on Medicaid are caring for elderly parents and disabled children. It’s an absolute disgrace and one for which most of the GOP caucus will burn in hell for.

yes.

it's also not clear how much this matters. elections aren't about facts or truth anymore, Trump blew that up. It's all about getting your propaganda out on your preferred network to your voter base. Keeping the jewish billionaires happy assures Trump the ability to do that.
