Perfect storm of financial issues coming together bros

We sold our old house recently and have been living in a temporary rental while looking for another one. Well, she found one. It costs about 800 k, which doesn't sound so bad except that we would pay cash and our liquid assets are about 1.5 million right now. It's also a 50 minute drive from my office. I'm also not exactly sold on the neighborhood, although I could be.
At the same time, one of my key salespeople is on her way out the door. I'm looking for a replacement and interviewed some people, but getting someone up to speed will take time.
Also got some big debts coming due on the business side. Ordinarily they wouldn't be a big deal, but combine it with these other issues and I'm feeling squeezed.
Wife is enraged that I won't just stroke a check for this house. She found it 3 days ago and already just has to have it. Said about two sentences to me last night after dinner because she's so mad.
Oh, wife is also late 30s and has given me one amazing child but hasn't given birth to any more. We have upcoming fertility clinic appointments and potential IVF expenses inbound, just to have a freaking second child.

Ive still been able to build up a big real estate portfolio by using seller financing and buying properties for cash. All this has led me to focus on nothing but the absolute best of the best deals, which has been beneficial. |
