IR people picked up on the term *because* the greek context was thought to be useful for explaining the bipolar cold war world, iirc. Date: November 14th, 2024 5:12 AM Author: jafar I am also not 100% certain A lot of what they consider to be the sacred law is needless and barbaric, and their understanding of it as I understand it is a hodgepodge of earlier clumped together forms of same-such from various other cultures they co-habitated with. Much of it makes sense---on levels both intuitive and received, much of the Torah is just common and practical wisdom---but there is a point beyond this or that specific is really not so necessary, so long as the general practices of a people are decent. There are also costs to this general practice that should be discussed. |
