Every security guard, if you decide to talk to them like human beings for a bit, seems to have this weird complex about how lame their lives are and start spewing the most obvious, often easily disprovable flame.
Examples:
- Guy said he had a bachelor's in computer science and it never did anything for him. I looked him up and it turned out he had dropped out of community college.
- Guy told me he had a security company and he was only working for Securitas because of the health benefits. I looked it up and it turned out that his 'company' was a Facebook page with a single post about how to keep your password safe.
- Guy told me that public offenses in California can be prosecuted by individuals without the approval of the district attorney.
- Guy insisted that NICS goes through the Department of Defense, not the Department of Justice. Also that prison guards make more than police officers.
- Woman had her security badge covered up and when I asked about it she said that it was because her position was classified.
- Woman had this elaborate backstory about how she was the adopted Russian child of a British ambassador who lived in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Any other professions that attract people like this? I don't mean something inherent to the profession like Law, where you're advancing spurious positions because it's the best you can do to defend your client's interests, but one that attracts the personality type that gets you to do this.
