People who pretend the two games are radically different are just kneejerk civfags who always shit on (most recent game). I liked the religion and city state mechanics in 6
7 is legitimately terrible and a very different game than all its predecessors. The "three eras with a hard reset between each" mechanic is fucking retarded and not fun at all, the tech tree has been radically oversimplified, etc. |

Civ 5 was the goat of the series imo there are a lot of mods out for it that make it a much better more completed and complex game |

so if you have some end of development city you are forced to revisit it every three turns to make some useless production choice. |
