They sell coke in cans that are cheaper and they're made in shitty factories similar to in the US. "Mexican coke" is actually a very specific factory that makes coke in the glass bottle that is actually a premium product and mostly exported (though, I remember buying the glass bottle in Mexico too so at least some is kept domestically). You'd think they'd be happy with any low logistical cost major sales opportunity on the continent but I guess they're still into hating the yanqui more than giving their farmers legitimate outlets for their product Mexican farm subsidies are a whole thing like California water politics and they make or break candidates or even nat'l elections as a lobby when they feel threatened |
