Another Hypothetical Grim Tale
After Trump is elected he gets his secretary of the Treasury and Justice Department in his office. He tells them that the press really is the enemy of the people, as he said, and he wants Justice and Treasury to get FISA warrants for all the financial transactions of the New York Times, The Washington Post and every reporter on their staff all of whom are national security threats. Then he wants all of the IRS statements for the companies and individuals and then he wants each reporter and the company as a whole to be subject to detailed IRS audits that keep them busy all day. The reporters cannot be allowed to ask for a time that suits them. They must be at the audits and the chief executives must be at their audits. Bog them down until they fold. Got it?
Is there anything to prevent this from happening?
