let's flesh out op some more
- you're paying bmw/mercedes prices but those are more prestigious
- no extra safety cachet like volvo which is also an also-ran brand but at least makes sense from a perspective unrelated to your own misguided vanity
- most audis are rebadged volkswagen, they use all the same parts lol
- no cool factor, even their "cool" cars just sort of become mundane after a couple years like the rs6 avant. in my lifetime only the r8 was cool for a few years because rappers started buying them
- suvs are all mommy mobiles, not aggressive looking at all

we're talking about prestige
- engines won like 8 formula 1 championships in a row very recently
- G-wagons are hip and cool
- audi has nothing like this: https://www.mbusa.com/en/vehicles/model/gt/coupe/amggt63e

a8s have always been interesting because of how quick they are for being a tank
legit sports car 0-60 times in the 00s.
ah, just looked. maybe it's only the s8 that was so quick. 3.8 0-60 in 2010, same today

FMA, I bought a 2025 Q8 back in January. brb going to burn it due to xo disapproval
I will say i like the look (blue on black grill) and interior, the electronics. but i'm not a car guy really and i'm not as rich as some of you all so I can't quite afford a $200k G Wagon just yet
the sensors go off constantly which is annoying af. my tires are not flat and there is nothing wrong with my suspension
it does well in the snow / Tahoe. in summary, i'm gay

i had two S4s, both manuals. a great option for an enthusiastic driver with room for more than one other.
but that was years ago. no idea what their lineup is now, and the car podcasts i listen to all say that the RS6 is a snoozefest.

Audi made some great cars until about a decade ago. Things started to get iffy about 5 years ago. And today's lineup is nearly a total mess unless you want to drop $150k on a wagon that no one will care about except 12 people on a car forum. Or the e-tron GT which loses half its value in a year or two.
Someone in the thread called them the German Infiniti. They're really more like the German version of Subaru. AWD-focused, rally history, and increasingly made for soccer moms and lesbians.
