PS2 was the gen where I was like "I can't do this shit anymore," like I just had no idea how to Curate. Same problem there is now where Japan just went full anime and westerners were releasing Boring Titles. Lots of proto-open world games where you just walked around and got lost, not knowing where to go. The "JUST BUY A PC!" thing that people are saying now was actually true back then.

Meanwhile you had GTA3, Vice City,San Andreas, MGS2-3, just a very top-heavy gen. But there were failures of marketing. Like Xenosaga should've gotten a 10/10 from IGN and Red Faction, Black, Sly Cooper, The Getaway, Mafia, Coolboarders 2001, and others never should've existed. Also Metroid Prime.

Star Wars Battlefront is another. And they released it with The Same Title on the current gen lol. Same Game, Same Title.

Meanwhile GBA was in a renaissance. Gamecube was defensible as a GBA player imho.
