January passed; February crawled by with those joyless acceptances that only accentuated the horror of Plan B: Georgetown, which is a "Law Center," a failed euphemism if ever there was one. Considering that everyone goes to law school to get a job that difference is pretty much the whole game. Obviously a con law class at T50 is not going to be materially different than at a T10, they both have law libraries (not that this actually matters today), etc. But of course having employers be impressed by your school is meaningful. And it basically follows you in your career directly and indirectly.

profs at lower ranked schools usually didn't have the HYS+SCOTUS clerk stats to start elsewhere. this includes a lot of t14 + a decade of AUSA types, which you don't see much of at t14s except for some oldmos practiced so long ago it's irrelevant.

the quality of instruction at lower ranked schools is often better because the professors are younger and hungry to climb the prestige ladder. professors are top ranked schools are often those who have already achieved that and pretty checked out on caring about the quality of their instruction.

on the other hand, top schools spend most of the time exploring nuances and the purpose of different laws because they're confident the students will do fine getting the law itself down and pass the bar. the lower ranked the school the more time they'll spend just hammering what the law is into students. which one of these is a "better" quality of education is subjective.

the better the school the more likely you are to be a smart and competent. but it also increases the odds that you're getting opportunities because people your school signals you're likely to be that, even if you aren't.
