I don't imagine they get a bunch of sick days, if any at all. Do they just stay home and make no money? Seems like that would ruin their lives and lead to a prole chain reaction of repo'ed car, eviction, DV charge, etc.

Washington has an onerous (for the employer) paid sick leave requirement.

Depends on if they live in seattle proper or not but i believe they accrue 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked. There is no hard cap on the amount of accrual. I believe 56 hours of that can roll over per year.

It's always a sob story about their baby or their car or whatever. We had this one slut who called out "sick" like fifteen times and HR wouldn't let us fire her. She fucked me over several times when she was supposed to be the opening cashier and I ended up alone at the store for like two hours.

We also had this black guy who was crying about how he didn't have any money for his kid and then he missed work for two weeks. And this was after we took up a "collection" to help him with diapers etc.

The crap I have to deal with is simply insane.

What happens if they have no sick days? It's not like they have a bunch of savings. What do they do then?

I don't know what they do and don't really care. With regard to their job, they usually get a "final warning" or something along those lines.

You should probably ask somebody who works in a grocery store instead of a law firm partner.

Ty. Ill take it from here. Usually people as described by evan abuse the myriad leave policies after exhausting paid sick leave and any other pto, first and foremost family and medical leave act (fmla). They do not get paid on this leave but remain employed and employers cannot replace them. Leave programs are abused to allow drug dealers and whores and other miscreants to remain employed while not actually working thereby gaining eligibility for other of dem programz where they get more free money, stuff like disability etc. "I had dis job for dree munts yo honuh buh my back yo honuh and den dey wronfuwwy terminade me yo honuh".
