Oh, Qatar’s golden plane, flyin’ high in the sun,
For a man with gold towers, he don’t need another one.
We’re breakin’ our backs, just to pay for the grain,
While the rich get richer on Qatar’s golden plane.
They say it’s a gift, no strings, no fuss,
But I ain’t that dumb, who’s foolin’ who, us?
A 747, with leather and gleam,
While my truck’s on blocks, chasin’ broke-down dreams.
He’s tweetin’ from Mar-a-Lago, livin’ the life,
While we’re dodgin’ the bank and the collector’s knife.
Oh, Qatar’s golden plane, flyin’ high in the sun,
For a man with gold towers, he don’t need another one.
We’re breakin’ our backs, just to pay for the grain,
While the rich get richer on Qatar’s golden plane.
Now I ain’t sayin’ he’s wrong, or he’s right,
But somethin’ don’t sit with me, late in the night.
When kings and sheikhs send planes cross the sea,
What’s the cost of that gift? It ain’t free for you and me.
We’re pawnin’ our tools, just to keep the lights on,
While that plane’s in the hangar, and the deal’s long gone.
I talked to my neighbor, he’s mad as can be,
Said, “Why’s it always them, never folks like you and me?”
We’re prayin’ for rain, for the crops to pull through,
While Trump’s got a jet that could fly to the moon.
I love this ol’ country, but it’s hard to stay proud,
When the powerful soar and we’re stuck on the ground.
Oh, Qatar’s golden plane, flyin’ high in the sun,
For a man with gold towers, he don’t need another one.
We’re breakin’ our backs, just to pay for the grain,
While the rich get richer on Qatar’s golden plane.
So I’ll raise my beer to the stars up above,
Pray for some truth, and a whole lotta love.
That plane might be pretty, but it ain’t for us,
Just another tall tale in a world full of rust.
Yeah, Qatar’s golden plane, it’s a hell of a sight,
But I’m still here dreamin’ of a fairer fight.
