I’m convinced the US govt was mostly caught off guard by 9/11, which was a real al Qaeda attack.
But the subsequent years of Islamic terror (up until, coincidentally, Nov 2016) now seem to clearly have been US-involved operations, with nefarious aims like increased surveillance, Middle East wars, Israeli foreign policy, etc. There were some “excess” demographic problems among young Muslim men and they certainly were ripe to be made martyrs, but the complete shut-down of all operations after Trump is too obvious.
Derp State was running that shit.
Post-Trump, these operations would have only strengthened him and anti-immigration support, so they were largely dust-binned.
I was the sucker on XO believing there was some looming clash of civilizations with Islam. Meanwhile Libs have taken over and Muzzies seem like they always could have been chill, family oriented bros with legit critiques of the west.
