KYIV — Four senior members of Donald Trump’s entourage have held secret discussions with some of Kyiv’s top political opponents to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, just as Washington aligns with Moscow in seeking to lever the Ukrainian president out of his job. The senior Trump allies held talks with Ukrainian opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko, a remorselessly ambitious former prime minister, and senior members of the party of Petro Poroshenko, Zelenskyy’s immediate predecessor as president, according to three Ukrainian parliamentarians and a U.S. Republican foreign policy expert. The discussions centered on whether Ukraine could hold quick presidential elections. These are being delayed in line with the country’s constitution because Ukraine remains under martial law. Critics of holding elections say they could be chaotic and play into Russia’s hands, with so many potential voters serving on the front lines or living abroad as refugees. |

Now, those same people are attempting to oust Zelensky because he actually is not a puppet and they also won't engage with the most popular opposition candidate, Zaluzhny, because he similarly is staunchly anti-Russia. Instead, they are meeting with Poroshenko, the guy who allegedly the US put in power immediately following the maidan CIA coup.

The Party of Regions was the largest party in Ukraine before the color revolution crowd (foreign funded) banned them and overthrew the democratically elected president. And now there are zero planned elections. What Ukrainians want has never been relevant.
But consider that the number of people that fled Ukraine and have no desire to return is a good metric for how happy Ukrainians are with this new government. That has been true since 2014 btw. The only reason more don't flee is because of tight border controls (people die all the time trying to escape). |

And yes Russia laying waste to towns and villages and firing missiles into cities will probably cause people to be displaced and leave. Even at its height in the early 2010’s, the pro-Russia sentiment in Ukraine was barely majority and most importantly NOT in favor of Russian annexation. And Donetsk/Lugansk was a warzone until very recently so your point about missiles and artillery applies to that scenario as well. Of course Ukrainian nationalists in Lviv had less reason to leave than Party of Regions people in Kharkov/Odessa and people in a warzone. Notably, people in Crimea didn't really leave since it was peaceful and those that did were pro-Ukrainian, but it was a tiny group (mostly Crimean Tatars).
None of this supports your narrative that everyone just loves this pro-Western government. The reality is that the country has closed borders for a reason, relies on conscription far more so than Russia, and has indefinitely cancelled elections. |

Zelensky is the Biden puppet even though he was elected while Trump was in office in 2019.
Poroshenko is the independent non-Biden puppet even though he was elected in 2014 while Obama was the president (and Biden the VP) following what you and people who reiterate the same arguments you do describe as a CIA coup to overthrow the legitimate president, Yanukovych. |
