Or the day before. When he finally rolled in, he handed me a doctor’s note for “an unspecified medical condition.” When I asked HR how he keeps getting away with it, they just said, “HIPAA, baby.”
So, I covered his shifts, again. Spent the day juggling his workload and mine, all while Randy sat outside, eating tacos and scrolling TikTok.
Finished the day, locked up, and whispered, “Yes, friend. This is fine.”
