Bad timing, since they just had their elections. A lot of fiscal conservatives mad at Friedrich Merz for getting rid of the debt limitations right after the election.
This does put more pressure on the SPD to come to an agreement on a coalition government with the CDU, since they don't want to have to re-do the elections with the AfD polling like this.

True with immigration in the sense that the only way to mass deport these people is by airplane and it's been proven time and again, in country after country, that this is not affordable or feasible on the scale needed. That's the bottom line and no amount of slogans or empty talk will change it.
The Austrian equivalent of the AfD was the ruling party for a while and no kind of mass deportations happened. Same thing in Holland after "XO" Geert Wilders won an election. Same thing with Trump now- the promised mass deportations never materialized.
