RIF Announcement and I'm pissed I took a job with the government because I'm disabled. Good insurance, work I was able to accomplish, set schedule. I thought it would be great. Then, election night happened, a month before my EOD date. Now, my department has been told to update our resumes by April 14th because an RIF will reduce our workforce by 75%. 75%. AFTER 5% took the DRP. I'm very upset. I need this job. But I'm queer and disabled, so I'm pretty much a DEI hire anywhere else... and we all know how that's been playing out. Only a few months in, and I'm already going to lose the job I was hoping I'd retire from. |
