And it’s pretty hard to even be overweight if you eliminate complex carbs too. What I did suboptimally on prior diets (which worked well, but not optimally) is to only focus on carbs and not also on fats.
It’s almost like if you eat a ton of meat protein, don’t drink much if at all, but still do some carbs from fruit (and non-starchy veggies if you like them) and some fat (from meat and eggs) you are healthier than 99% of Americans diets.
I have been trying to eat 2000 calories a day, and except when I either have some drinks or eat a ribeye as my protein, I end up way under even eating 200-500 calories of fruit and I am not hungry. If I limit myself to 200 calories of fruit I end up 1200-1500.

Anyone that is very fat has a high probability of being a drunk or a soda fiend. You can take in an unlimited amount of calories in liquid form while doing not much and not even notice. If you go to prole supermarkets they have carts full of 2L Pepsi and cases of shit beer.
On the other hand even something like a huge bagel made with tons of sugar and a weird industrial food spread - sure you can eat one, maybe two if you are huge, but no one is going to power through six of them on the couch. You get full and bored of eating and need to get up and do something.

Ok fine. I was thinking more in terms of statistics/whats normal across the population. Most people hit a point where chewing and swallowing and putting more mass in your stomach does not feel good.
