The fake wife was a tough read. She was good w the kids, but still ultimately a bit nutty. I was honestly only half paying attention by the last episode. When he started rehearsing the actor kid's mom I was just like "alright already!" lol. She was a little over-the-top w the satanic stuff. It was funny when he was like "can you make me a list of satanic rituals so I know what to avoid?" It was also funny how he showed how lazy she became. Even if produce magically sprouting overnight, she stopped gardening, wasn't doing her fake business, wasn't doing homeschooling, etc. But I think that if it was all fake I'd probably have a tough time staying motivated too.

But, I think all in all she ended up coming off really well.

My wife early on described her as a 'woo Christian', which seems right.

She struck me as authentically trying to live the values that she says she believes in ways that more respectable Christians don't always.

Of note, she didn't back down when Nathan brought in the Jewish lady to change how she was going to raise the fake kids, she was calm but firm about it in a way that impressed me.

Also, in the last episode when Nathan was interviewing her for the retrospective, I was impressed by the attitude of forgiveness that she extended Nathan, again, in a way that more respectable Christians act in theory, but not always in practice.

All in all, her earnestness impressed me.

I think it was an incredible contrast how she handled having her faith tested vs the Jewish lady. The Jewish lady was completely indignant that Christ was even being brought up. It wasn't like the fake wife said "Jews killed Jesus" or whatever. She just said "I can't support teaching my child a faith that negates my own beliefs." They really can't co-exist in a lot of ways.

I also liked how Nathan wanted to introduce Judaism, but couldn't even answer basic questions about it (like why women don't wear yarmulkes). Say what you want about fake wife, but she was able to back it all up w scripture.
