Up until maybe the 80s I could see how the average enlisted guy would have some degree of respect for the average officer, but these days any Tom Dick and Harry can and does have a college degree, which seems to be the main credential to be an officer. Plus officers have been more focused on random neocon campaigns, grifting for Big Defense, and DEI crap than being some Prussian style Chad. Do regular enlisted people GAF about some general or commander or whatever now?
