My wife and I spend so much time with our kids, we build bonds with them, teach them the importance of family and hard work, and explain they need to be kind to others. The problem with people like RSF and why they end up fucked up is because their parents think money is a proxy for parenting and building a loving home. Money is incredible for many things but it can't replace anything, only magnify it. If you aren't a good parent throwing money at the problem won't help it, just make it worse. If you're a good parent, money can make your kids lives 100x better. Just look at the Trump kids and how well they are all doing and how close that family is. It wasn't a criticism, just giving you the information. Trump grandkids do seem well adjusted given the circumstances. I've just personally seen a ton of rich kids turn into shitty af people. It's probably harder to avoid than not, sort of the standard outcome. Unearned fortunes tend to mess most people up pretty good. It's a classic foible. You're in good company, many historical titans had fucked up kids.
One of the worst dads in history was Picasso. He basically disowned his son for not being an artistic genius. He said how can you come from me and not be exactly like me. The irony is that Picasso's father put a ton of effort into raising Picasso well. But he had no patience for his own kid. |
