Why did Covid deaths go down so much?

As was clear to anyone with a brain, the only way out of covid was through it.
It worked its way through the population, becoming weaker each time, until now its not that dangerous.
There's also a lot less people dying "with covid" because we're not testing as much - so if someone has a heart attack and happens to have covid we're no longer calling it a covid death.
IMO, covid was a real pandemic - it was probably at least 10x worse than swine flu. But we took 10,000x more extreme measures to combat than we did with swine flu (and they were stupid - because we all got COVID multiple times anyway).
