What’s done it for me is he’s just a fucking dumbass and so lazy and careless. The stupid shit he was saying at the last debate was maddening. He could have salted away the election if he just focused on accurately talking about inflation, illegals and how Biden isn’t moderate at all. But he babbled on about made up stupid shit like after birth abortions or whatever. |

he wins by being so ridiculously charismatic that he can't help but be full of absurd contradictions (around an intelligible core) because that is part of the essence of his charisma
and you don't get to rule if you don't win
his success is inseparable from his vices
we needed someone entirely perpendicular to the content and nature of political discussion to change it. and he did. immigration doesn't get foisted upon the country as a major issue in 2015 without him behaving like this. |

he is obviously "playing trump" which is why your gut feeling about him is that he is forced and lame. he never does what he is doing today without trump having come before him to give him a template.
