Hot Take: The Dems actually ran a pretty good campaign

There's 2 major wars. Immigration has turned so that even NYC and Chicago started complaining about it.
They had 2 options IMO:
1. Nominate some super charismatic Democrat to go out there and sell Democratic policy and excite the base Obama style. Run around on TV and sell Americans on more spending, an open border, and the right for 12 year old kids to get top surgery. The obvious problem with this is that the DNC platform is just out of step with reality.
2. Go with Kamala as a quasi-continuation of Biden (who had the most moderate reputation of the Dems) and position her as a gun wielding, fracking loving, woman who wants to build that wall. When asked about anything remotely related to her actual positions, just say "i'm not worried about transgender kids i'm worried about Donald Trump."
They went with option 2, and realized it was hard to keep up the charade, so they just her do 0 media and just do free concerts and rallies in swing states with celebs.
And they were actually pretty successful. Common wisdom was that Trump had a 2% advantage in the electoral college. So she's really performing 3%ish better in the swing states than nationally.
Obviously it wasn't enough to win given the state of the country and how unimpressive she was, but the campaign strategy was much better than Hillary her didn't campaign in swing states... |
