This friend of mine bought his kid a "gaming laptop." It came with a RTX 4060 and some Steam download codes for some games.
These games all make you choose whether to enable a bajillion features, no explanation what they do. No idea what the fuck "frame generation" is. Isn't generating frames the most fundamental thing a video card does? What happens if I don't enable that?
The upscaling thing I get, you need algos to do that, but can you at least tell me what level of upscaling this game even needs before I decide whether I even want it? What's the native resolution vs the resolution of my screen? Don't make me guess.
There's other shit that's weird too. What's "global illumination quality" and wouldn't it require ray tracing to be enabled? What if I disable ray tracing and turn up global illumination quality? What if I enable ray tracing and turn down global illumination quality? What the fuck are ray reflections? Who gives a FUCK about any of that shit? Have you ever stared at reflections in water while playing a video game?
