you live on the left side of a one way urban residential street, maybe one or two cars a minute pass. on the left, directly next to your house, is one parking spot you could parallel park into. on the right hand side there are two spots, allowing you to pull directly in, but requiring you to extend your journey slightly and cross the street. you are not carrying bags and do not anticipate needing to load anything into your car on your next journey.

which spot do you choose and why?

Right. Don’t want to embarrass myself trying to parallel park. Still don’t understand why auto parallel parking isn’t standard in every car. The tech came out in the early 2000’s and they were using it in Japan.

right.

edit: didn’t notice it was one way. still choose right because the parallel park spot is more likely be tight and take longer to get out of next time i leave

all parking spots will eventually be filled and so someone will be parallel parking behind you at some point if you choose the right hand double space.
