The sheriff’s office said that the driver was going to be really late to work after they said the following:
“Just take my license and give me a ticket so I can get to work.”
According to Colorado law, driving 25 mph or more over the posted limit is a Class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense. The driver is subject to a minimum sentence of 10 days in jail or a $150 fine, or both, and a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail or a $300 fine, or both, along with other fines.
“Speeding isn’t worth it—no job is more important than your safety or the safety of others on the road,” the sheriff’s office said.
