Stakes are $2/$5

Juan Eighty: Wakes up with KK on the cutoff, raises to 15

Hatbro: Re-raises to 60 on the button

Chill Jewbro wearing a Star of David chain: Re-raises to 130 (as big blind)

Juan Eighty: raises to $330

Hatbro folds

Jewbro calls

Flop is As3dAc

Jewbro checks, I check

Turn is 6s

Jewbro bets $400, I tank for 3 minutes and fold

Ten minutes later I ask him if I made a mistake folding in that hand he says "that's a big hand to lay down", implying that he bluffed

He 100% bluffed with QQ. I shouldve clocked that there was no way he had AK or AA there. I still have a lot to learn

Other than that great night at the tables and now we're sipping brewskis. Cheers to a 180 weekend

Nah I live in flyover

You should learn how2play, the fundamentals are pretty easy and you don't have to be that good to win at a $1/$2 table

Craps is GOATUS POTUS of fun casino games, but poker is football and chess rolled into one

given the preflop action, you should be c-betting flop for 25-33% pot. if you get called and want to pot control, you likely get to see a free river because the BB is probably going to check the turn to you. if he leads out on river, you can reevaluate.

as played, i think you still need to call. only 4 combos of AK, and AA isn't betting 2/3 pot on that board. more than likely JJ/QQ sensing weakness.

yeah I have a flawed mental model where I think AK thinks they're so far ahead that they always call that flop

next time this situation happens I'm betting for sure

it's a difficult emotional experience because the downs from losses are more crushing than the joy of success. that's a good night, and you have the opportunity to be better in the future

I don’t understand how online poker is any fun. There must have been bots before but must be really out of control now with ChatGPT. It’s just a bunch of AI playing each other

I was playing in person at a casino w/r/t the OP

ChatGPT is dogshit at poker. I imagine there are traditional AI poker engines that would be profitable on today's online sites

I still find ways to be vaguely profitable online

He thought he was good. He didn’t bluff. You just laid down the hand because you were scared of the flop.

Read up on Phil Galfond and range theory. You have to put your opponent on a range of hands, not isolate them to 1 hand which requires telepathy

It’s less about his own range on the flop IMO and more about the range of hands he’s representing to his opponent via the preflop raises. Checking back that flop is awful IMO. Scared money is dead money.
