They just like H1Bs because it creates an indentured servant relationship where (1) a significant part of the employee comp is tied to the right to live in the US (which means they get to pay less than they otherwise would), and (2) that comp only snowballs and creates an indentured servant type relationship where the employer can blow up the employees life if they step out of line (because most people get kinda used to wanting to live where they’ve been the longer they’ve been there and will give up a lot of comp to maintain that). Then the manager comes to rely on them and then wants to bring them here. In all this misinformation, one thing that has gone unsaid is that American managers want these employees here because they came to trust their work. This route should be allowed, imo.
Then there are the desi consulting companies - Infosys, Cognizant. These guys have truly brought in bottom of the barrel shitskins here. This entire operation needs to be shut down. If Infosys wants to do business in the US, they need to hire Americans or gtfo.
Finally the last group is those that got a degree here (on F1 visa) and then want to work here. This too is a mixed bag. There are those from top universities like MIT, UCLA, etc. And there are also those that get an MIS degree (useless) from Northwest Bumfuck State U and are absolutely atrocious. The solution here is simple. Have a list of elite colleges and only give H1bs to graduates of those.
