The best lawyers--i.e., the lawyers that best understand their client's business and needs and are able to most effectively execute on their client's strategy--are in-house. BIGLAW is disposable temp labor.

lots of in house lawyers get paid less than even midlevel associates nowadays.

I'd venture to say that BIGLAW associates are currently massively overpaid. There used to be a meaningful difference between non-equity partner pay and associates, now it's almost non-existent.

There used to be no such thing as a non-equity “partner”.

It’s funny how autistic big lawyers are. Some of the best legal minds in the country will explode if you try to get them to use practical judgment on anything

Spending tons of time arguing about covenants that would have no impact on damages either way is a pretty classic one in tranny world

There was an erisa guy at baker hostetler we wouldn’t let speak with clients. He spoke in jargon and cited cases and shit to people. Absolutely nobody cared about any of it.

It’s really no different from a large landscaping company business model - send teams of beaners around to do very paint by numbers work at scale.

I want to understand, and more importantly EXECUTE my client's business needs. If I can do that I'll know I've made it.
