2) Same people from CLS applying at all of the firms so the high grade/good WE folks took all the cbs.
3) Firms looking to maintain relationships with the local schools don't really care about filling their classes with CLS students. If they get one or two high achievers to accept offers they're happy, if not, no big deal. Should have bid on the school's strength- which is NYC.
If I'd had 21/22 screeners, but with all the huge NYC shops I'd probably have 5 or 6 cbs now. Not great, but better than my current state of foreboding (I already did cbs). |

Daniel Brou is a Carpetbagger AcademicDaniel Brou used to have a web page at Columbia University that included links to a number of Canadian newspapers, to a progressive liberal organization, to a few progressive comic strips, and his Canadian and Columbian friends. But his website had no links to American universities, organizations, or people. His website had no links to any New York City institutions, organizations, or people. There was absolutely nothing to tell that Daniel Brou had lived for five years in New York City because apparently nothing was worth linking to. For that matter, he didn't even include a mention of his future fiancee. No pictures. No notes about her. Other Canadian friends, but his future fiancee wasn't worthy of mention. How was it that Daniel Brou could live in New York and the US for five years without being impressed by ANYTHING, A SINGLE THING? Academics like Daniel Brou come to the US without being open to new experiences, without believing in its democratic values, or its cultural marketplace, and they leave exactly as they arrive except with a shiny prestigious degree and expensive scholarships that could have gone to students that actually believed in the American educational system. If Daniel Brou was so much more confident in the Canadian educational system, then why didn't he get his PhD at a Canadian university? Carpetbagger academics like Daniel Brou don't listen to their beliefs, aren't open to new expereinces, but treat the US like a piggy bank for getting expensive prestigious degrees that they take home to train generations of new scholars who don't value the US any more than them. And why is the US educating Canada's labor force on its behalf? The externalities of Daniel Brou's American financed education are being returned to the Canadian economy, so the US is funding Canadian economic growth rather than American economic growth. If Daniel Brou loved his future fiancee, why no mention of her whatsoever? If he believed in the Canadian educational system, why did he get his phd in the US? If he lived in nyc for 5 years why is nothing worthy of mention? Why is someone so closed to new experiences, so barren of beliefs given a Teaching Award as if he is someone worthy of trust and respect???

I got saved from one lull in conversation because I had read the law review article that the partner linked to in his publications. One guy was securities lit, so I did some research and I was able to talk meaningfully about recently passed legislation regulating shareholder suits. I knew EVERYTHING.
