For reference, Trump lost Georgia when Atlanta was significantly BELOW the statewide turnout average. He cannot win if it's even on par with the statewide average, much less above it.
Also, Atlanta area has grown since 2020 and rural areas have decreased in population. |

It’s also pretty stupid that Trump has maintained his animosity toward the state level GOP leaders. But this all comes down to the college educateds (and not just the whites) in the suburbs and secondary cities. It’s not the same as Mich where if enough blacks in Detroit bother to vote the GOP can’t win. GA isn’t as provincial as AZ, but people don’t like that shit forced on them. Leaning on MTG to push the abortion issue and dusting off Loeffler were definitely questionable choices. Absolutely no one was dying to see Loeffler on the campaign trail. No one.
Georgia could still lean red if the GOP played it smarter but they seem determined to trip on their own dicks in every major campaign. |
