have memories where people would just dumping quarters into Ms Pac-Man to get a high score. I just remember thinking, why are people paying to be trapped in a maze and let’s go drive around instead

the craziest part is that none of the self-identified "gaming culture" people in the current year even play games
they just spend $70 on "AAA" walking simulator titles and play them for like 10 hours before quitting and going back on the internet to complain about "nazis" and order more HRT drugs

I don't know how far anyone gets in anything. Seems like people have a tendency to literally play something for like 10 minutes and quit. Or maybe these "backlog" bros don't even install the games.
When I was a kid and saw how Scumbags played games (like 10 minutes at a time and maybe 30 minutes total life-to-date of any one game) and assumed I was Extremely Losery for actually finishing entire games. Before NAFTA passed, a lot of these Scumbags had like 50 or 60 Cartridges if not more just for one Console.

PS5 commits you to 1 year when you get the Plus membership for but the last month of it I upgraded tiers and could play tons of Games for "free" in gamepass-esque manner. A lot of Games have exquisite Engineering and follow all sorts of Rules about game design but just make you 😴. Stuff like the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle lol.
$70 isn't that much for a game. It's a lot for like 15 minutes of a game that you'll never feel compelled to play for a 16th minute.
