ITT: townhouse vs. single family home

Will be our first home together. Married 3 years - baby within the year (hopefully).
Townhouse is not in a gated community, beautiful, and is move in ready. Costs will be not significantly less than a single family home. Appreciate the input, bros. |

There are no monthly dues but apparently maintenance is split between the 4 residents. |

Minimal yard maintenance is nice but it also depends on your HOA have some friends in townhouses without fences/privacy, basically makes backyard useless |
