Then she stated telling me about how unfair the world is and how she had it rough growing up as a boomer. Then she shared that she was going to Ohio for Christmas to be with her other family and she asked me what I wanted and I told her nothing, as I do every year. Then she started getting angry that I don’t like Christmas. As this was happening I told her I had to go get dinner started. This is our dysfunctional relationship. |

She was in a string of very abusive relationships where I usually got the receiving end of whatever was going wrong in her beaux’s life at the time. Well, Earl was hung like a horse and that’s all that mattered. So black eyes, and split scalps, and the need for stitches here and there became the thing of “boys will be boys” and other little lies we tell ourselves. Starting in HS she just didn’t talk to me for about 15 years when I got married and started having children of my own. Then she wanted to be a family again.
