there are a number of states where Trump flat out lost the white vote, including most of the Northeast and possibly even California (exit polls go both ways). aside from that, when you consider the white vote + black vote (which has hardly changed since then) and factor out hispanics/asians/others, he still would have lost the entire Northeast and west coast. also, he actually would have done worse in some midwestern states because of black migration black to the south since the 1980's. hth |
