Never would have expected that. He signs autographs in shopping malls.

Meh a lot of other sites say that or more. Plus Pat Mahomes gave him a signed jersey at a game.

Looks like towards the end he was making $300,000 per episode on Happy Days. There were 255 episodes of Happy Days - even if he pulled that in for just 50 episodes thats $15 million in 1980.

He seems like a super reasonable guy so I'm sure he invested a lot of that.

It does but he was the biggest TV star on the planet.

Kelsey Grammar was making $1.5 million per episode a decade later so $300,000 seems reasonable.

Unfortunately the IRS requires precise estimates of net worth on celebrity sites. So this is no doubt true

Happy Days was on from 1974 to 1984 and was big in reruns after that. There was even a Saturday morning cartoon show based on it. If he bought any significant property in LA in the 70s-90s then it would be easy for him to be worth that much today.

this site is bullshit. according to them, guy picciotto from fugazi is worth $14 million: https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/singers/guy-picciotto-net-worth/

but ian mackaye is worth $5 million: https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/singers/ian-mackaye-net-worth-2/

i'm sure everyone from fugazi is relatively comfortable, but $14 million is absurd. on top of that, one of those guys, ian mackaye, also owns dischord records and has had a very comfortable income stream from that for many years (label ahs been around since 1980, but i'd bet it's made nice money since around 2000 or so). so why is he worth 1/3 of the amount his guitarist/stage hype man is?

related: i used to work at the washington poast as a news aide. the bassist of bikini kill (kathi wilcox) worked with me. she's married to guy, and she once asked me if i wanted to buy his volvo. i thought it was kinda funny that a dood from fugazi tools around dc in a dad car. granted, he was around 40 at the time. she also once told me that yoko ono was a genius and i asked her if she was putting me on.

He also brought "jumped the shark" into our vernacular, which must be worth something.
