That isn't as hard as it sounds. I regularly carried a 60 lb rucksack, 20 lb M249, and 30 lb IOTV in the army. I could go for miles like that, and I weighed 210 lbs. No way you burn more that many calories.

I'm not too familiar with this aspect of fitness, but I don't think it would cause you to burn significantly more calories. The vast majority if the calories you burn on a daily basis is just your body maintaining homeostasis.

Fair enough, I wasn't trying to be obtuse. I got fat over COVID and I've lost almost all of it, it was amazing how light I felt afterwards. When I was trying to get better at running in the army, my friend made an analogy by saying that every ten pounds of weight you lose is like losing a bowling ball. That really put it into perspective for me.
